The idea for this portfolio is not to replace the traditional binder, scrap book style of record keeping. I made this for myself and perhaps others who find themselves in the same situation’¦ if you are interested read on’¦
I have five children, my three older kids love art and making creations etc. At the end of the year I end up with a box full of papers and creations of which I don’t want to throw a single one away! Every piece means something to them and me. There’s usually too much to put into a binder, so the solution I’ve found is scanning and saving.
Another reason this works for me is that we have moved often and now that I have five kids, keeping it all in binders means a whole lot of binders to carry. (We still keep the hard copies of school books and some art and samples from the past year well as their report forms and diplomas; I keep these combined in a small binder for all my kids.) So, the Lord gave me the simple solution of making a power point portfolio of their work: This way I can keep a lot more document their experiences and work in a power point portfolio full of memories.
